At Oxford Property Consulting we value customer service above everything else – here’s why!

I was recently sitting in my new living room waiting for a delivery to arrive completely unaware that I was about to have 2 very different customer service experiences. When I noticed a brown patch appearing on the ceiling, I knew that something was wrong. I went upstairs to find water pouring from the expansion vessel on the heating system.

Fortunately, I was at home waiting for the aforementioned delivery so able to make the necessary phone calls to try and solve the problem. Unfortunately, it was out of office hours so I was expecting difficulty in getting a plumber who could fix it.

“How contrasting customer service levels can be really shocked me”

I had already been in the house for around 4 hours waiting for the delivery to come, as it was due to arrive any time between 2pm and 9pm, when the leak took place. I contacted a recommended plumbing service and spoke to their emergency contact.

Although she was unable to tell me what to do immediately, she spoke to an engineer and within 5 minutes was able to relay the information to isolate the problem and prevent any more water escaping from the system. No engineer needed to come out just to find that they wouldn’t be able to do anything until the morning, saving both time and money. She then informed me someone would be out in the morning once they could collect the necessary new part from the plumber’s merchant. All this was achieved before I had received delivery of the washer/dryer and fridge/freezer I was waiting on.

In fact, the installation of the new part was made before I received delivery of the goods, as they didn’t arrive in the promised delivery slot. They didn’t even arrive within the next delivery slot which was arranged.

The point of this post isn’t to badmouth any particular company or praise another. However, just how contrasting customer service levels can be really shocked me. The real message of this post is the importance of excellent customer service and delivering what you promise.
