Meet the team behind Oxford Property Consulting
With its dreaming spires and picturesque rolling countryside, Oxfordshire is the ideal location for people looking to balance a rural lifestyle with working in the city.
At Oxford Property Consulting, our team are Oxfordshire experts and work closely with clients to help them source their dream property.
In our latest blog, we ask our team why they love Oxfordshire and learn their recommendations for fun family days out, favourite location and where to grab a bite to eat.
Ben Procter – Managing Director
Ben founded Oxford Property Consulting in May 2016 and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and helps with purchases, rentals and development searches.
Location?
Henley is a lovely market town with the river Thames running through it. It has great restaurants and hotels, lovely independent shops and even a winery. Each year the regatta and festival are great events and it’s so easy to get to London.
Day out?
I’m a keen sportsman and love a round of golf. There are so many great courses in Oxfordshire. I’m a member at Oxford Golf Club, but also play at Frilford Heath, Burford, Studley Wood and more.
Dining out?
The Muddy Duck in Hethe, although there are so many to choose from! It has great food, atmosphere and service all at a reasonable price.
Why Oxfordshire?
Oxfordshire has a bit of everything. Great access to nature, history, interesting architecture, excellent schools and further education. We have great access to London too. Oxfordshire is the perfect size – big enough to lose yourself, but small enough to know well.
Greg Thomson – Director of Residential Buying
Greg joined the Oxford Property Consulting team in July 2021 and heads up the company’s property buying arm by helping clients to find their dream homes.
Location?
Dorchester-on-Thames. It’s a charming and quintessentially English village with the beautiful Abbey, great pubs and restaurants and Wittenham Clumps on your doorstep for some spectacular walks in all seasons.
Day out?
I love taking friends and family punting along the River Thames while admiring the dreaming spires of Oxford. There are a number of excellent pubs and restaurants dotted along the river too, which are always worth a quick visit.
Dining out?
The Cherwell Boathouse. It’s at the gateway to one of my favourite punting stations, but also serves fantastic French cuisine and a nice cold glass of something tempting.
Why Oxfordshire?
Oxfordshire has it all. A thriving and diverse community with a real mix of rural and urban delights. It’s a perfect county to raise a family as people are friendly and we have great schools that cater for all needs.
Our proximity to London is ideal for commuters too who want to balance working in the city with a calmer, rural, lifestyle.
Anna Halloran – Partner
Anna’s career at Oxford Property Consulting started in 2018 where she worked closely with Ben on both residential and commercial searches.
After finishing maternity leave in 2021, Anna joined as a Partner and is now a residential and development buying agent, covering a broad range of searches in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
Location?
I love my home village Wolvercote. Wolvercote has the best of both worlds – village life and great local pubs, but a short cycle ride into Summertown or Jericho if you require anything.
Day out?
There are lots of wild swimming spots in Oxfordshire, and my children love nothing more than a dip in the River Thames. A quick cycle into Jericho to meet friends for a relaxing drink at the weekend is great too.
Dining out?
I love to walk from our house to The Perch for supper. It’s a beautiful walk along the River Thames followed by some great food and wine, finishing with the sunset on the walk home.
Why Oxfordshire?
Oxfordshire is a fantastic place to live because of the people and local community. I grew up locally and feel so lucky to raise my children in such a warm, kind and interesting place. I wouldn’t wish to live anywhere else!
Charlotte Hill – Administrative Assistant
Charlotte joined Oxford Property Consulting as an administrative assistant in November 2023 and helps the team organise their busy schedules, helping with online property searching and other useful tasks.
Location?
I love West Oxfordshire as a whole. The countryside living, the lovely walks and the history that surrounds so many places within it. I have never been on a bad walk, and the ice cream is much better too! There are so many places to explore and often, we come across another place to add to the list while we're out.
Day out?
You just can't beat a lovely walk in the countryside, surrounded by nature and muddy puddles for our children to jump in (at every given opportunity), and sticks to make den houses. Packing some snacks and heading out for the day is up there with my favourite things to do.
Dining out?
I really love Mamma Mia Pizzeria in Jericho, it has long been a favourite since I moved there over 10 years ago and even though we have since left the area! The sister restaurant in Summertown has recently been revamped, and is on our list to visit for comparison.
Why Oxfordshire?
Oxfordshire is a great place to live, with so many different things to do and see. Having grown up here, it is where I imagined bringing my children up and I feel very fortunate to have done so. The community feel is something I value a lot, and having just moved to a new village, we are very lucky to have moved our family to somewhere that continues to hold the community spirit.
