Oxford Property Consulting Charity Round-Up 2024: Making a Difference in Our Community

As we look back on 2024, we reflect on the incredible charitable efforts we’ve been proud to be a part of here at Oxford Property Consulting (OPC). Last year was filled with opportunities to give back, support our local community, and contribute to causes that truly make a difference. From sponsoring events to organising our own charity activities, OPC has shown that we are committed not just to business, but to building a stronger, more connected community.

Here’s a roundup of our charitable highlights from the year:

Sponsorship of “Fragile” the Ox with Property Formula and RJS Waste Management

One of the most exciting initiatives we were involved in last year was Sobell House Hospice's OxTrail. In collaboration with Property Formula and RJS Waste Management, OPC proudly sponsored “Fragile”, painted by the wonderful Sandra Russell, one of the Ox sculptures for the city-wide art trail. OxTrail, which brought together local artists and businesses, created a fun and engaging way to celebrate the city of Oxford while raising funds for a brilliant charity. Fragile was a standout, and we were thrilled to see so many people enjoying the art around town. This event not only showcased the creativity within our community but also allowed us to support Sobell House and help them raise nearly £300,000 through the trail.

Be Free Young Carers Charity Golf Day

In September, OPC hosted a memorable Charity Golf Day to raise funds for Be Free Young Carers (BFYC). With 80 wonderful attendees, the event was a huge success, bringing together friends, clients, and colleagues in support of this important cause. The day was filled with friendly competition, great networking, and most importantly, an outpouring of support for the young carers who benefit from BFYC’s services. In total, the day raised £4000, such a wonderful amount for a fun filled day.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we were able to raise significant funds to support BFYC’s initiatives, providing respite, support, and opportunities for young people who often face incredible challenges in their day-to-day lives.

Charity Quiz Night hosted by Darragh “The Menace” Ennis in partnership with Opendoorz Trinity

Later in the year, OPC was proud to join forces with Opendoorz Trinity, for a charity quiz night hosted by none other than The Chase’s Darragh Ennis, better known as The Menace. The event was filled with fun, camaraderie, and competitive spirit, but the most important outcome was the incredible amount of money we raised for Be Free Young Carers once again.

In total, the quiz night raised over £4,500, a fantastic achievement that will help BFYC continue their essential work. We are grateful for the generosity of all those who attended and contributed, raising funds to help support these incredible young people.

OPC Becomes Corporate Members of Homeless Oxfordshire

At OPC, we believe in supporting people in need across all sectors of society. That’s why we were proud to become members of Homeless Oxfordshire’s corporate club. As a corporate partner, we hope to contribute to the vital work being done to end homelessness in Oxfordshire, offering both financial support and raising awareness of the ongoing challenges that people experiencing homelessness face. Our membership allows us to stay engaged with the charity's initiatives and to contribute to local efforts that are making real change.

Supporting the Cutteslowe Wishing Tree

The festive season saw another heart warming initiative as we sponsored the Cutteslowe Wishing Tree at Christmas time. Through this initiative, we were able to provide gifts to children in less fortunate circumstances. These 124 children included young carers, children with additional needs, parents with long term chronic health conditions, refugees, children spending Christmas in emergency housing as well as families just struggling with the burden of the ever-increasing cost of living. This effort not only brightened the holidays for those in need, but also helped bring our team closer together as we worked to fulfil the wishes of local children. We are incredibly proud to have been a part of this special project, and we know that the gifts we provided helped make a difference in many families' lives during a time when support and kindness are especially meaningful.

Looking Ahead

At OPC, we are incredibly proud of the work we’ve been able to do this year in support of these remarkable causes. 2024 was a year of collaboration, community, and above all, giving back. As we look to the future, we remain committed to making a positive impact and continuing to support local charities and initiatives that improve lives in our community.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients, partners, and team members who have supported these efforts. Without your help, none of this would be possible. We look forward to even more opportunities to give back in 2025 and beyond.

Stay tuned for more updates on our charitable initiatives and how you can get involved this year!
